Port City Airconditioning is committed to continually improve its environmental performance, prevent pollution and be increasingly responsible to minimise and control waste.
Our solutions take into account AS/NZS 4965-2008 which specifies the conditions on which the capacity and energy consumption of Close Control Air Conditioners. This means they comply with the Minimum Energy Performance Standards stipulated by the government.
The biggest environmental concern with the HVAC trade in general is the release of refrigerant gases to the atmosphere which contributes to global warming and the degradation of our ozone layer.
The Port City Airconditioning “Refrigerant Risk Management Plan” is design to educate, deter and police the responsible handling of refrigerants amongst our technicians. We are proud to say that we exceed the ARCTICK criteria for responsible handling of refrigerants.

We are aware of our statutory and moral obligations to ensure that the safety of employees, subcontractors and the public is provided for and maintained at all times. It is because of this commitment our safety statistics are well below the industry’s average.
Our commitment is based on the principle of controlling risk to a level, which is as low as reasonably practicable and Port City has a dedicated Work Place Health & Safety Officer that is continually working on improving our safety processes.
Work is carried out in accordance with Queensland health and safety laws including but not limited to the Work Health and Safety Act (2011) and the Electrical Safety Act (2002).
All our service technicians undergo environmental awareness training to educate them on their responsibilities, communications procedures and requirements, incident response procedures, integration of environmental management, and health and safety.
